Overview

The Aayanam API identifies the traditional Hindu solar half-year (Aayanam) for a given date, time, and geographical location. In the Hindu calendar, the year is divided into two major solar periods: Uttarayanam and Dakshinayanam, which are associated with the Sun's apparent northward and southward movement, respectively.

The API returns the Aayanam name, identifying whether the specified date and time falls under Uttarayanam or Dakshinayanam. This information is useful for displaying traditional solar periods in Hindu Panchang applications, religious calendars, festival planners, and Vedic astrology software.

To calculate Aayanam, provide the year, month, date, time, latitude, longitude, and timezone. You can also configure the observation point as geocentric or topocentric. The API returns the result in JSON format, making it easy to integrate traditional Aayanam information into web applications, mobile apps, and astrology platforms.
