FreeAstrologyAPI uses professional astronomical calculations to determine planetary positions with a high degree of precision. The APIs are designed for production applications where accuracy is essential.
FreeAstrologyAPI uses a proprietary astronomical calculation engine developed in-house. Planetary positions, house cusps, divisional charts and other astrological calculations are computed using our own algorithms, developed through years of software engineering, mathematical research and astrological study.
The API currently supports Lahiri and Sayana (Tropical) calculations. Additional ayanamsha options may be introduced in future releases based on user demand.
No. The API uses the timezone information provided in your request and does not automatically determine or apply daylight saving time (DST) adjustments.
If DST applies to the location and date you are calculating, make sure to provide the appropriate timezone or UTC offset for that date.
Yes. All divisional charts (Vargas) are generated using the same accurate planetary positions, ensuring consistency across all horoscope calculations.
